IAPDT

IAPDT1301NATO’s Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) conducted the sixth Individual Augmentee Pre-Deployment Training (IAPDT) 13/01 at its training facility in Jåttå from 19 to 25 March 2013.

The IAPDT 13/01 trained a total of 58 Individual Augmentees (IAs) from thirteen NATO Member and two Partner Nations.

The IAs will start filling key staff and command positions in Headquarters International Security Assistance Force (HQ ISAF), ISAF Joint Command (HQ IJC), Special Operations Component Command-Afghanistan (SOCC-A) and NATO Training Mission-Afghanistan (NTM-A) this year.

Nineteen theatre and recently redeployed Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) also participated in the event.

The IAPDT 13/01 programme included a comprehensive Mission Specific Training (with focus on LEGAD, Information Dominance, Campaign Assessment, anti-corruption and Afghanistan Peace and Reintegration Programme), Electronic Working Practices, ISAF and IJC Working Practices, Functional Area and Media Training, briefings on the fundamentals of counterinsurgency and various syndicate works. There were twenty-seven video teleconferences with the Afghan theatre of operations that allowed the Training Audience to interact real-time with their counterparts as well as the senior leadership, such as HQ ISAF Chief of Staff Italian Army Lieutenant General Giorgio Battisti and HQ IJC Chief of Staff British Major General Thomas Beckett.

The IAPDT is a biannual NATO sponsored pre-deployment training event designed for staff who are going on deployment to Afghanistan and are unable to attend the also biannual Mission Rehearsal Training Events.

INFORMATION ON THE UPCOMING IAPDT WILL BE ANNOUNCED HERE.
