The Individual Augmentee Pre-Deployment Training (IAPDT) for Headquarters International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) and ISAF Joint Command (HQ IJC) was held at the Joint Warfare Centre's new training facility in Jatta from 26 June to 1 July 2012.
A total of 60 individual augmentees from 17 Member and Partner Nations as well as 15 Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) recently re-deployed from two theatre headquarters participated in the training event.
Build on actual on-the-ground experience incorporated into the training scenario; the JWC-run IAPDT programme included Mission Specific Training, Electronic Working Practices, briefings on counter-insurgency (COIN), detailed information on staff processes and interactions among different divisions and branches in HQ ISAF/IJC, as well as 19 VTCs with the Afghan theatre of operations.
"JWC's comprehensive training programme prior to Afghanistan deployment is a perfect opportunity for the individual augmentees. It enables them to understand the whole staff processes and working practices within HQ ISAF/IJC. The training programme familiarizes the individual augmentees with their upcoming mission and internal/external relationships critical to mission success," said Joint Warfare Centre's OPR for the event, French Army Lieutenant Colonel Gilles Hammerer.
