JWC holds joint Fourth of July and Canada Day celebration

JULY 4 NAT DAYThe bi-national celebration is a sequel to the previous year, which underlines the close and strategic friendship between both countries and honors their common history, culture and traditions.

Today, U.S. Air Force Brigadier General Steven J. DePalmer, Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) Chief of Staff, and Canadian Senior National Representative, Colonel Timothy Bishop, welcomed friends and colleagues to a cookout and barbeque at the 426th Air Base Squadron, Stavanger, to jointly celebrate the United States' Independence Day, also known as the Fourth of July, and Canada Day, which is on the First of July.

This year's National day festivities included opening speeches by Brigadier General DePalmer and Colonel Bishop respectively, children's activities and a variety of food including grilled hot dogs and hamburgers, chicken, baked beans and corn on the cob. And of course it would not be a celebration without cake!
