ISAF TE 13-01 concludes

isaf1301 6Today, the Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) successfully completed the first ISAF Mission Rehearsal Training ever conducted in the superior training environment of its new training facility at Jatta, Stavanger.

Rector and faculty member from University of Stavanger visited JWC

VISIT UIS SMALLProfessor Marit Boyesen, Rector of the University of Stavanger, and Professor Kenneth Pettersen, the university’s Head of Centre for Risk Management and Societal Safety, visited NATO’s Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) on Tuesday 4 June.

Commander Norwegian National Joint HQ visits JWC

VADM HANSSEN SVice Admiral Haakon Bruun-Hanssen, Commander Norwegian National Joint Headquarters, visited NATO’s Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) on Tuesday 28 May.

JWC Supports NATO Response Force Preparation

cavourJWC personnel in the last four weeks actively participated in a preparation exercise for the NATO Response Force (NRF) as the different NATO Headquarters earmarked for NRF 2014 conducted a Crisis Response Planning Exercise.

Yet another step forward for NRF 2014

OLRT 13 4A 25-person Operational Liaison and Reconnaissance Team (OLRT) led by NATO’s Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFC Brunssum), together with some of its subordinate Component Commands for NATO Response Force (NRF) 2014, supported a Crisis Response Planning from 11 to 15 May at the Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) in preparation for STEADFAST JAZZ 13 (SFJZ 13), which is scheduled for this November.

60 years high in colours: Le Bagad de Lann-Bihoué

new bagadThis year’s National Day celebrations will bring the internationally acclaimed French Navy Band Le Bagad de Lann-Bihoué to Stavanger for a variety of top outdoor public performances. On 17 May the Bagad will also march in the colourful Folketoget parade.

Training Refinement Conference in Kabul

20081028 080310a-001A team of 16 exercise planners from the Joint Warfare Centre is just back from a two-week Training Refinement Conference in Kabul. The purpose of the team’s trip was to plan the details of the scenario for the upcoming International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) exercise, which will run this spring.

Visit of German General Staff College

GERMAN STAFF COLLEGE 1 WEB15 officers from the General Staff College of the German Armed Forces, or Führungsakademie der Bundeswehr, visited NATO’s Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) on Tuesday 26 February 2013 following a guided tour of Stavanger earlier in the morning.
