The fourth NATO Joint Computer Assisted Exercise Forum is currently being held at NATO's Joint Warfare Centre in Stavanger, Norway, until 17 September 2009. The primary goal for this year's CAX Forum is to promote the exchange of information and "best practices" between the staffs of NATO and various national simulation centres worldwide.
CAX Forum 2009 focuses on new technologies in the field of warfighting and operating procedures relating to simulation-based exercises and training support. Over 100 participants from 14 Nations are curretly participating CAX Forum 2009. The venue was opened on 16 September 2009 by Commander Joint Warfare Centre, Lieutenant General Wolfgang Korte from German Army, and the keynote speech was given by the Supreme Allied Command Transformation (HQ SACT) representative, Major General Kjell Skare, HQ SACT Assistant Chief of Staff Implementation.
