Royal Navy Vice Admiral Paul Bennett CB OBE, Allied Command Transformation (ACT) Chief of Staff, visited the Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) on Wednesday 20 March to open and attend the Human Capital Development Workshop hosted by the JWC.
Led by ACT, the two-day workshop focused on a variety of Human Capital issues, providing a unique perspective to discussions on NATO’s future Human Capital Roadmap during this time of great change and progress, where common threats to the Alliance are constantly evolving.
Geared toward organizations across NATO, Centres of Excellence, and partners with a Human Capital Programme of Work, the workshop aimed to influence NATO’s Capability Development into the future and generate a stronger Human Capital focus through innovation, behaviour change, training, education and the application of technology.
Polish Army Major General Andrzej Reudowicz, Commander JWC, welcomed Vice Admiral Bennett and kicked off the workshop saying that the event was extremely beneficial in order to prepare for the challenges and opportunities ahead. Major General Reudowicz highlighted the importance of strengthening collaboration with the Nations, international Partners, industry and academia in order to foster an environment where creativity, innovation and initiative are encouraged.
“We are going to make a difference,” Vice Admiral Bennett said in his opening remarks. “My biggest priority is to do what I can to help facilitate change in the way we deliver Human Capital initiatives. We have to use our intellectual capacity and transform it into an Alliance game changer.”
In the afternoon, Vice Admiral Bennett received detailed briefings covering a range of key topics on the JWC’s agenda, including an update on Exercise TRIDENT JUPITER 2019 and a discussion on future training requirements in accordance with the next Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) Annual Guidance for Education, Training, Exercise and Evaluation (ETEE), commonly referred to as "SAGE".
