United States Army Lieutenant General David M. Rodriguez, Commander International Security Assistance Force Joint Command and Deputy Commander United States Forces Afghanistan, visited Joint Warfare Centre's Ulsnes Interim Training Facility on Tuesday, 9 November 2010, to observe the execution of this year's final HQ ISAF Mission Rehearsal Training Event.

ISAF TE 10/02 was held at the Joint Warfare Centre’s Ulsnes Training Facility from 31 October to 12 November 2010 with the participation of 783 service members from HQ ISAF, HQ IJC, Joint Warfare Centre, NATO’s Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (ARRC) and Force Command HQ Heidelberg as well as national individual augmentees.

Lieutenant General Rodriguez stayed in Stavanger until 12 November 2010. During the official visit, Lieutenant General Rodriguez met with the German Army Lieutenant General Wolfgang Korte, Commander Joint Warfare Centre and held a meeting to review a number of issues of mutual interest; received briefings and detailed updates on the training; attended various high level meetings and discussions, toured the training facility, and to conclude his programme, he participated in the After Action Review at the Camp Madla Auditorium, where he delivered a keynote speech.

ISAF TE 10/02 was eleven days of concentrated work, that brought in a whole range of Subject Matter Experts both from theatre and those who just recently redeployed and still current on the issues they took care of. The training at Ulsnes directly contributes to the conduct of operations in Afghanistan by allowing the standing HQs and individual augmentees to rehearse their assigned tasks prior to actually deploying in January 2011.
