A delegation from the Atlantic Council of the United States (ACUS) visited NATO’s Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) on Friday 10 May 2019.

The visit was part of the delegation’s fact-finding tour of Norway, which was organized in collaboration with the Norwegian Ministry of Defence.

The delegation was welcomed by Polish Army Major General Andrzej Reudowicz, Commander JWC.

During their visit to the JWC, ACUS representatives received a strategic mission briefing and learned about the Centre’s significant role both as a Warfare Development command and as the main provider of Computer-Assisted Command Post Exercises (CAX/CPX) to the NATO Alliance, supporting operational level training across the full spectrum.

The official programme also included a luncheon hosted by Major General Reudowicz and a guided tour of the JWC's state-of-the-art training facility, including the Bunker, which is a massive structure located inside Mount Jåttå that is used for major exercises, providing the JWC's second Combined Joint Operations Centre (CJOC).

The Joint Warfare Centre, located in Stavanger, Norway, is the premier collective training establishment of NATO, supporting Alliance military transformation for the joint operational level warfare.
