German Army Major General Josef Blotz, the Deputy Commander of Headquarters Eurocorps, visited NATO’s Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) on Monday, September 16, 2019.

During the visit, Blotz attended a meeting with Rear Admiral Jan C. Kaack, Commander JWC, and received detailed briefings about how the Centre conducts exercises and training events for the headquarters of the NATO Command Structure (NCS) and NATO Force Structure (NFS), with a particular focus on the TRIDENT JUPITER 2019 Exercise Campaign. 

Sponsored by Allied Command Transformation (ACT), the TRIDENT JUPITER 2019 Exercise Campaign consists of two linked multi-level computer-assisted command post exercises (TRIDENT JUPITER 2019-1 and TRIDENT JUPITER 2019-2) directed by the JWC, as well as the one-level (tactical/land-centric) LOYAL LEDA 2020, which will be directed by the Joint Force Training Centre.

Linked with NATO and European Union (EU) Command structure, Eurocorps in Strasbourg, France, is a multinational, fully deployable and highly autonomous headquarters prepared to plan and conduct military operations across the full spectrum by commanding assigned forces that involves French, German, Belgian, Spanish, Luxembourg, Polish, Italian, Greek, Turkish and Romanian soldiers.
