A delegation of foreign defence and air attaches conducted a familiarization visit to the Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) on Tuesday 16 October 2012 in order to gain insight into how the Centre supports transformation of NATO’s military capabilities.
The defence attaches, representing Germany, Netherlands, Romania, Spain, Turkey and the United States were greeted by Norwegian Army Brigadier Gunnar E. Gustavsen, Special Advisor to the Commander JWC. During the official visit the delegation received a series of briefings and detailed updates on the roles and responsibilities of the Centre, its comprehensive training and exercise programme now and in the future, as well as the way ahead on NATO’s transformation. Overall, the visit provided a great opportunity for exchange of views and knowledge between the JWC staff and the delegation. The official visit ended with a guided tour of the JWC’s state-of-the-art training facility.
