The JWC today welcomed the visit of Royal Norwegian Air Force Lieutenant General Erik Gustavson, Chief of Defence Staff Norway, and a Finnish delegation led by Finnish Army Lieutenant General Mika Peltonen, Deputy Chief of Staff Operations Finland.

The official visit programme started with an office call with German Army Major General Erhard Buehler, Commander JWC, which was also attended by U.S. Air Force Brigadier General John W. Doucette, Chief of Staff and Deputy Commander, and Norwegian Air Force Brigadier General Jon Ragnar Krogstad, the Commander’s Special Advisor.

The programme continued with the JWC overview briefing facilitated by Brigadier General Doucette, as well as a series of briefings on the latest activities of the Centre. The focus was mainly on JWC’s full-spectrum operational level training and exercise programme; its complex Computer and Information Systems (CIS) infrastructure and future Partner cooperation for higher efficiency and cost-effective solutions in the field of joint and combined training.

Also discussed was the possibility of including a Finnish officer in the future peacetime organization at JWC.

During the visit Lieutenant General Erik Gustavson also had the opportunity to meet JWC’s Norwegian staff members.

The official programme concluded with a guided tour of the JWC’s state-of-the-art training facility.
