JÅTTÅ: 39 local community key leaders attended the reception given for Community Leaders at Mount Jåttå on Wednesday 12 May. Among them were the Mayor of Stavanger, Leif Johan Sevland, the Mayor of Randaberg, Tom Tvedt and the County Governor, Roald G. Bergsaker.

Lieutenant General Thorstein Skiaker, Director of Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) and Commander National Joint Headquarters (NJHQ), hosted a reception for local community key leaders on Wednesday 12 May. The reception was held at the military headquarters of Mount Jåttå.

The guests had the opportunity to learn about both headquarters' structures and operations and how each has an impact on the region.

The last two years have brought many changes to the Jåttå complex. In 2002, the Norwegian National Joint Headquarters became the operational headquarters for all Norwegian defence forces with responsibility for Norway's international operations. In 2003, the decommissioning of the operational Joint Headquarters North and the activation of the JWC was a major event. As part of implementing the Alliance's transformation, the establishment of the JWC marked a turning point for NATO's presence at Jåttå in terms of structure and mission.
