The Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) hosted, for the first time, a meeting of Rogaland County Emergency Council, also known as "Fylkesberedskapsradet" on 10 June.
The Council, which is led by the County Governor in Rogaland, Mrs. Magnhild Meltveit Kleppa, comprised around 50 persons representing a variety of civilian and military institutions. The theme of the meeting was “Risk and Vulnerability Assessment and Emergency Preparedness”.
German Army Major General Erhard Buehler, Commander JWC, said in his welcome remarks that he was very proud to host this meeting in Jatta. Following the Commander, the JWC Chief of Staff, U.S. Air Force Brigadier General John W. Doucette gave a presentation of JWC's history and mission. While at JWC, the Council also visited the JWC bunker and the new F-block to get an impression of where and how NATO conducts its operational level joint training events.
