Norwegian Chief of Defence Admiral Haakon Bruun-Hanssen visited NATO’s Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) on Wednesday, 14 September 2016. He was accompanied by CDR Per Anders Bakke, his Military Assistant and Lt CDR Kay Norheim, the Aide-de-Camp.

Admiral Bruun-Hanssen and the delegation were given a warm welcome upon arrival by Polish Army Major General Andrzej Reudowicz, Commander JWC. The visit programme included an office call with the Commander, followed by a series of comprehensive briefings in the Leiv Eiriksson room focusing on JWC’s current activities, NATO’s TRIDENT Series of Exercises in general and the development of training scenarios. The visit was a great opportunity for both parties to highlight the strong partnership between Norway and the Joint Warfare Centre as NATO’s footprint in the North.

Admiral Haakon Bruun-Hanssen took on his assignment as the Norwegian Chief of Defence in 2013. Before his appointment as the Chief of Defence, Admiral Bruun-Hanssen served as the Commander, Norwegian Joint Headquarters where he was responsible for all Norwegian military operations; both domestic and abroad.
