British Army Major General Karl Ford CBE, Deputy Chief of Staff (Plans) at Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFC Brunssum), and British Army Brigadier General Mark Kenyon OBE, Head, Joint Force Training and Integration at the Directorate of Joint Warfare, British Joint Forces Command, visited NATO Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) on Tuesday 22 January 2019.

The two delegations were welcomed by Polish Army Major General Andrzej Reudowicz, Commander JWC. The visit programme included an Office Call with the Commander, followed by a mission briefing which outlined the Centre’s mission and current Programme of Work within NATO’s collective training framework. Major General Ford and Brigadier General Kenyon also received an up-close look at the JWC’s crucial support to NATO’s evolving Warfare Development.

During the visit, Major General Ford and Brigadier General Kenyon received a series of briefings from the JWC exercise planners, training scenario developers and the CAX (Computer Assisted Exercise) support subject matter experts. Additionally, Brigadier General Kenyon presented a review of his Directorate’s current outlook on training and innovation whilst Major General Ford attended a discussion about NATO’s new JWC-directed TRIDENT JUPITER Series of Exercises, which will present a higher level of ambition to NATO and Allies' joint capabilities.

Major General Ford and Brigadier General Kenyon were also given a tour of the JWC facilities where they received further briefings on topics ranging from JWC’s exercise design and delivery processes to the 360-degree scope training scenario design and development, simulation media and the exercise information environment.
